In Ragnarok Online you will find that the characters you choose to be are not labeled like other MMO’s. Where they call what type of character you are a class, here it is called a Ragnarok Online job. Ironically when playing a MMORPG you will find that sometimes it’s like having a real life job, so it’s quite appropriate for it to be titled as such. Your RO job depends on what type of person you are and how you want to progress in the game. This game offers you the option of taking a test to choose what type of Ragnarok job best suits your needs. You can either take this test or skip it entirely, the same as you can choose to be the job the test picks for you or not.
There are six RO jobs that you can eventually choose from depending on the path you take as a novice. If you count being a super novice and novice as a class then there would be eight in total, however most people don’t consider that a real job since it is the basic job assigned to every person that plays Ragnarok Online. The six Ragnarok jobs that you can choose from are Swordsman, Mage, Archer, Merchant, Thief, and Acolyte. These offer you the chance to gain skill and abilities that will be helpful if you choose to advance further in your job by becoming a sub-job type.
